Carrie Underwood won country music’s most coveted award as the ACM Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.
Underwood in only the sixth woman to receive the Entertainer of the Year Award. Kenny Chesney took the big award home for the past four years. The last females to win Entertainer of the Year were the Dixie Chicks in 2000.
Other winners at ACM awards included Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson, Julianne Hough, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland and Brad Baisley.
Carrie Underwood lavish lava took as much attention as the singer herself. Underwood wore a grandiose dress flowing ball gown worthy of the envy of Gone With the Wind southern belle Scarlett O'Hara. The flowing lava red gown took over the stage creating a dramatic vision of the new Country Music Queen.
