The Central Valley continues to clean up after Tuesday's storm. Wednesday's weather was much more tranquil, as the winds died down and the sun broke through in the afternoon hours. Temperatures warmed into the 70s during the afternoon, and highs should be in the upper 70s today as the clouds move out and weak high pressure builds into the area. The atmosphere is still moist, so it will feel muggy this afternoon.
The rest of the week should be nice weather-wise, as high pressure steers weather systems north away from our area. Highs will be around 80 today and Friday in most Valley locations, with 60s expected in the high country. This stretch of good weather will help as the area tries to clean up from this week's storm.
The weekend looks a bit unsettled at this point as a weak weather system moves inland to our north. This system will drag a cold front through Northern California on Saturday, dropping temperatures by about 10 degrees and bringing some wind back to the area. Some showers are possible on Saturday and Sunday in the high country and the northern Sacramento Valley, with dry and cloudy conditions expected elsewhere. Highs should be in the mid 70s on Saturday and the upper 60s for Sunday.
A stronger system may affect Northern California early next week, but it doesn't look nearly as strong as last Tuesday's storm. However, some rain is possible in all Valley locations on Monday and Tuesday of next week, so stay tuned.
