For those who may have forgotten how much fun "teabagging" can be, what better time to refresh your memory than the 4th of July?

I am never sure if I will be attending my local 4th of July parade on any given year. On most years I am happy to sleep in and enjoy whatever festivities there might be from the comfort of my own home or at a relative's house enjoying a fun filled family reunion. Saturday will be an exception to that rule. According to the website for one of our local "Tea Party" groups, "Renew Liberty":

"...We've been accepted to participate in the "Colors of Freedom" July 4th Parade in Everett which will be televised by KIRO-TV.  This is the kind of exposure we are looking for!  A way to get the word out to the many spectators in the parade crowd and the probable local televised plug.  After the parade we will gather at the Snohomish County Courthouse Plaza and rally the spirits of Freedom.  We hope to have a passionate Patriot recite the Declaration of Independence, others speaking on the ratification of the Constitution, Veterans leading us in Patriotic song among some of the scheduled presentations."

After hearing the Everett parade officials for years complain to the local political parties that, while they may participate in the parade, they are to refrain from "politicizing" the event, I can't wait for this group to march by on Saturday. Of course I intend to also attend their seance (where they hope to "rally the spirits of Freedom") at the courthouse afterwords.

Stay tuned for a report on Sunday.

Peace,
Chad Shue
