As the title above states, May is APA Heritage Month and people are celebrating in different ways.  One of my favorite websites, Angryasianman.com, is hosting the “30 Most Influential Asians Under 30.”  NW Asian Weekly has an upcoming issue detailing the different aspects of being an API from their staff’s perspective and there are several events happening in Seattle.

This last Sunday, the Seattle Center hosted the opening API Heritage Month Celebration and will continue on with the International Children’s Festival from May 11-16.  And we shouldn’t forget the ever popular SIFF (Seattle International Film Festival) which typically features more than its share of movies from Asia, as well as films that feature many Asian-Americans.

Throughout this month, I’ll be detailing my personal struggles and triumphs and trying to figure out what it exactly means to be an Asian-American.  Comments and questions are welcomed.
