For many Americans, Vietnam is more of an event than an actual country with a rich culture and heritage. This weekend, the Seattle Public Library is hosting a series of performances dubbed, “Sounds of Vietnam.” Featuring Canadian-based duo, Khac Chi, the performances will showcase traditional Vietnamese folk music, as well as new arrangements played by the group, both of whom have taught Vietnamese music courses at the University of British Columbia.
Khac Chi will be playing at the Central Library and the Beacon Hill library on Saturday, August 2nd and again at the Columbia branch on Sunday, August 3rd.
