This article represents the introductory entry in a series of articles concerning Vegas 2009 Halloween week (10/25 - 10/31) events and attractions. A plethora of thrilling and chilling Halloween 2009 celebration options is of course available for Vegas locals and visitors. Haunted houses, parties and balls, corn mazes, costume contests, carnivals, and much more are among the choices open to Vegas patrons. Some events are family - oriented and some are strictly adult themed but there are indeed options for all ages. This initial entry outlines haunted house / attraction options in Sin City. Additionally, we've included a section regarding some of the more popular costume stores in town for those who might arrive without proper Halloween attire. Access the provided links for more specifics (dates, times, directions, and contacts) on each listing.

Vegas Halloween costume stores : Store options include American Costumes, Halloween Mart, the Hard Rock's Love Jones , Spirit Halloween Stores (4 area locations), and Halloween Express (4 locations).

Haunted Houses :

Texas Screams : includes two haunted houses at the Texas Station casino,  Hotel Fear and The Asylum  (depicted in article header photo) ; $12 to enter one or $18 to enter both.

Freakling Brothers haunted houses : These attractions include Castle Vampyre and Circus of Horrors at the United Artist's Theater plus The Mortuary at the Sunset Station Casino. Entry prices are $11/$18/$24.

Haunted Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay : prices are $16.95, $13.95, $10.95, $8.95 and free for children under 4 years.

Fright Dome at Circus Circus : Offers 5 separate haunted houses, freak shows, 23 rides, a 4-D theater, and assorted additional ghoulish stuff . Tickets are $34.95 and $49.95.

Zombie Precinct / Haunted Bridge at New York, New York : Priced $20 / $10 for hotel guests.

Binion's Haunted Casino : This downtown casino attraction includes three haunted houses and the entire event is free.

Stagecoach Depot Haunted Corn Maze : This attraction is approximately 50 miles northeast of the strip on I - 15. It's located at 2300 Glendale Boulevard in Moapa, NV. Their offered events include a screaming contest ( earplugs not supplied ) and admission is $10 for adults and free for children under 6 years of age.

Halloween Funtown Frightfest :  Located at the Galleria Mall in Henderson, entry costs are $4 for adults, $2 for 12 and under, and $12 for a family fun pack.

Monster Mayhem & Funtime Frightfest : This attraction includes two haunted houses and is located at the Boca Park shopping center . Tickets are $15 or $25 for a fast pass.
