Florida must now recognize gay couples' adoptions granted in other states even though Florida law denies granting gay adoptions.

In a lesbian custody case (each woman gave birth to a child and then legally adopted the other child), the final decision protects the legal bond between adoptive parents and ensures that adoptive parents can have stability when moving across state lines.

However, there will be an appeal. One mother, Kimberly Ryan, has attempted to bar the other mother, Lara Embry, from seeing her adopted daughter.

The ruling can be found here.

More on the decision from Proud Parenting.
