This year National Adoption Day falls on November 15. My family was hoping to complete a successful adoption before this date but it looks as if our son will be joining our family in early December instead.

Like most families, I know that even though we have already adopted we are undereducated about foster care and adoption in the United States. The Dave Thomas Foundation, intent on educating and raising money for adoptive families and for foster children, is offering Free Foster Care Care Adoption Awareness Toolkits to help prepare families like mine.

They can be ordered at the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. I also suggest ordering the Beginner's Guide to Adoption if you are first starting your journey.
