Here are some upcoming art events to jump start the 2009 art season!
Jugrnaut is having their monthly art showing with yours truly for the beginning of the year this Saturday, Jan. 10th at 6pm. Jugrnaut is the primary culture boutique outfitting the hipsters near the South Loop and beyond. I will be displaying all new works priced recession friendly.
This will be the second show that the fine folks at AK events will be presenting. This will be their second event as the first one went off successfully turning Caffe Baci into an interactive art space complete with a full band and cash bar. This month will be no exception as they book the musical stylings of live pa artist Franco De Leon . This is an all photography show this time around all centered around the theme - "The view from above."
This all day multi media event is on a Sunday which is pretty unorthodox in the art world but it's an all inclusive event with live painting, a gallery show, poets, dj's and a special night time event with famed underground author William "Upski" Wimsatt. This is through the non for profit radio station WBEZ. All of this is happening at the historic Biograph Theater located on 2433 n. Lincoln ave.
The howling winds and ice can be intimidating but that's never stopped anyone - especially Chicagoans from attending events that are cultural and most importantly free to the public!
