I finally mustered up the strength to walk one of Chicago's more interesting side streets, which provides plenty of visuals. I've always seen the murals on Bloomindale Ave. in bits and pieces, but never in its entirety. There are plenty of different artists, styles, and controversy along this concrete gallery.

Started my journey on Bloomindale and a crooked looking Milwaukee. Maybe a mini airplane ran into it and bent the sign. Bloomindale Ave. is one of those awesome side streets that go diagonaly west. Not a lot of traffic down the street, just a bunch of new condos and BMW SUVs.

A very subtle way to start the walk. If I'm not mistaken this was done by a girl.

Happy clouds.

I guess Kfed got bored of the hollywood life and decided to start doing some horrible street tags in alley ways.

I've been seeing a lot of Zodiac tags lately in all shapes and colors. You can never go wrong with Lime Green.

Next street.

Cope 2 from the Bronx. One of the pioneers of graffiti. This man is truly a legend and it's good to see it person. He's been doing graffiti since the late 70's early 80's and is still active today.

Tkid, who is another NYC graffiti legend shows us a more sensitive side with the use of pastel colors.

Ket (pictured far right here) is also in that legendery NYC graffiti category.

David "Cove" Gonzales is one of my favorites around here.

Chucho has amazing spraypaint control. He's been doing this for years and years...can you tell?

This has been here for years. One of the first all spraypaint murals I've seen growing up in the city.

I keep going and going and going and going.

Word.

Once you cross Western, you'll start seeing underpasses on side streets that have murals on both sides of the street as seen here.

Also makes a good rest stop if tired.

Loved this wall. This is why I never wear white, it just ends up getting dirty.

Nice. Nothing says beauty like a healthy dose of poo poo brown.

Finally reached California Ave. where the bridge ends. The walls that adorn the Wicker Park neighborhood have been under some controversy for some time because the residents that moved in after the walls were painted feel that it promotes gangs, is an eyesore, and a "nuisance" to the neighborhood. They are pushing to have the walls along this alley-like street to be painted with images that will be approved by the new condo residents. I always thought beauty was in the eye of the beholder or is it with the people who make the most noise about it?
Thanks for reading.
