Well the Halloween season has ended and its time to start thinking about the Thanksgiving holiday… and then Christmas will be here before we know it. It seems to go faster and faster every year, doesn’t it? The good news is that there are so many great theatre options to keep you entertained while you plan out that big Thanksgiving Dinner or start listing out your Christmas gift list. In fact there are 13 different productions opening this weekend alone – and that doesn’t even include the 30 other currently running productions. In total there are 33 shows to choose from this weekend – so what to pick? Well here are my top choices:

Opens Friday, November 6th
And runs through November 30th
Vintage Theatre Presents:
Den of Thieves
A safe-cracking robbery is no place for kleptomaniacs Maggie and Paul who join forces with Puerto Rican wannabe Flaco and the ultra-fabulous topless dancer Boochie in order to pull off the perfect crime to steal $750,000 in drug money. But when this rag-tag bunch of crooks gets caught, the perfect crime quickly turns into a high-octane, 12-Stepping, double-crossing, hysterical battle for survival.

Opens Friday, November 6th
And runs through December 5th
Celebrationworks Presents:
Kosher Lutherans
The leftovers are in the frig, and your guests are getting antsy, now what?
Entertain your holiday guests by sharing the Regional Premiere of "Kosher Lutherans," a holiday comedy,  by William Missouri Downs, about a  couple who face a moral crisis during the Christmas and Hanukkah season, when they realize the unwed, pregnant teen from Iowa whose baby they want to adopt doesn’t know they are Jewish, has never known anyone Jewish and what she's heard isn't good.

Opens Saturday, November 7th
And runs through November 14th
PHAMALy Presents:
Vox Phamalia: Re-Dux
A unique and honest look at living with disabilities by the people who do. Built on the success of PHAMALY’s 2008 studio presentation of “VOX PHAMALIA: Tales from the Crips,” this year’s offering is the culmination of a 12 week sketch/improvisational comedy and dramatic workshop series led by well known Colorado Director/Playwright Edith Weiss. Written and performed by: Laura Alsum, Briana Berthiaume, Tara Cowan, Don Gabenski, Donna Gunnison, Stephen Hahn, Regan Linton, Amber Marsh, Lucy Roucis, Edith Weiss (director/writer) and David Wright.

Now Playing through Saturday, November 7th
Boulder’s Dinner Theatre Presents:
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
This Tony Award-winning hit musical comedy follows six young misfits in the throes of puberty as they compete in an "actual" spelling bee. And they're overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves. This amusing tale of overachievers' angst is the unlikeliest of musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time. Before every performance, four audience volunteers are recruited to participate on-stage as guest spellers, so every performance is different.
