It’s official – Wicked is back and just as popular as ever (pun intended.) Wicked opens tonight at the Denver Center, and tickets have been selling fast! For you Wicked fans out there, the cast of this Broadway smash hit is also offering a 2nd chance to hear these amazing vocalists do what they do best. They will be presenting an evening titled Wicked Rocks, a performance that will give them an opportunity to step out of their Wicked roles and present an evening of rock and roll’s greatest hits with songs by The Beatles, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, and Led Zeppelin. You’ll be able to catch this show at the Bluebird Theatre on November 9th  at 8:00 PM.

According to their press release, this event is part of an ongoing series of performances by the touring company. They are presenting these performances to support charitable causes which advance WICKED’s theme of acceptance and illuminate the musical’s message that people should not be judged on first impressions. The company believes that in these diverse times we must come together to support those in need throughout the country and around the world. In its four years on the road, the company has raised over $500,000 in donations to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and local AIDS services organizations all over the country.

This performance will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS as well as Denver’s Project Angel Heart. Project Angel Heart addresses the critical need for nutrition by providing home-delivered meals specifically designed to meet the heightened nutritional requirements of people battling life-threatening illnesses.

This promises to be a fun filled evening of rock and roll, musical theatre, and Broadway stars. Plus it all benefits two very worthy causes.
