Arvada Center's A Year With Frog and Toad
Winner Best Childrens Theatre Program (2008)

There are many Children's Theatre Programs in this state. Teaching our kids the skills needed to make it big on Broadway, or simply to be a better public speaker. Arts education is critical to childrens' development, and with public schools losing more and more of their arts funding, it is up to our local theatre community to make up the difference. These companies definitly make a difference.

  1. Arvada Center Theatre Company Childrens Program
The Arvada Center offers more than 600 classes a year covering the performing arts, dance, music, ceramics, photography and the humanities. They attract more than 25,000 students every year. They do charge tuition, but they also have scholarships available. They also provide shows by adults for kids in addition to all of the classes!
  2. Aurora Fox Little Foxes
The Little Foxes is a unique total involvement program of theatre classes, performances, and workshops for kids. They have done Winnie The Pooh, James and the Giant Peach, and many more. This is a really fun and really great program for your kids!
  3. Imagination Makers Theatre Company
This is a totally unique program. IMTC is a touring company that brings shows to schools all over Colorado. They bring everything to the school and even provide study guides for teachers complete with follow up activities!
  4. Littleton Town Hall Arts Center
Town Hall performs shows by adults but designed for kids. They are interactive and high quality and a ton of fun. Just another way that the theatre community is reaching out to show kids the importance of creativity.
