Robin Wallace, Christian Mast, Wade P. Wood in Catch me if you Can
playing at the Denver Victorian Theatre.

What are you doing this weekend?
It’s Friday night, there are no movies I want to go see and I don’t feel like another night at the bar. I don’t feel like another rousing evening of Iron Chef (though who doesn’t love that show?) and my laundry is done, so what to do? I think it is time for a night at the theatre. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, and you don’t have to travel to the other side of the state. There is a ton of theatre right in your neighborhood, all you need to know is where to look.
That’s where I come in. I’m here to help you find out about those smaller theatres, the hidden gems, that are just looking for you to discover them. How many times have you driven past Lowry? Did you know there is a wonderful theatre there, home of the Firehouse Theatre Company? How about the Capitol Hill area? Did you know there are several great little theatres up there? Capitol Hill is home to Vintage Theatre, Avenue Theatre and more. Highlands? Check. Westminster? Check. Lakewood, Aurora, Littleton, Englewood? Check, check, check and check.  This Examiner is going to help you find out where to go, what to see, and who you’ll see there. I’ll offer reviews, interviews with artists, what’s playing, stories about the plays, and so much more – all with a focus on the smaller, lesser-known theatres. If there is anything you would like to know about, I’m listening – and thanks for reading!

What To Do This Weekend:

Fun For the whole Family: Evergreen Players Present “The Wizard of Oz.”

Somewhere over the rainbow... Dorothy and friends, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, and the Cowardly Lion travel to the Emerald City to see the Wizard, meet up with the Lollypop Guild, in the County of Gillikins and other dreamscapes. There's the Wicked Witch of the West's sister, of course, the Sorceress of the North (the Good Witch) and songs you can sing along with (featuring a live orchestra), plus memorable scenes and new exciting characters (The Jitterbugs) and lots and lots of talent.

The Evergreen Players and proud sponsor Bellco Credit Union present a classic stage musical, The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum, adapted by Frank Gabrielson, directed and choreographed by Tony Catanese, music and lyrics of the screen version by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harbug, with Travis Yamamoto as Musical Director
