How much are you willing to spend on entertainment?

Just how much of an impact does the economy have on the theatre community? I suspect quite a lot. We all need to be so much more selective with our entertainment dollar, mainly because we have fewer dollars to go towards entertainment. I will continue to support live theatre, and I truly believe that spending $20 on a night at the theatre is so much more rewarding than paying $10 to see the latest Hollywood xerox.

But what about the rest of the world? Not everyone has the same passion for live theatre that I do. Now is the time for the theatre community to reach out to you, the patrons. Producers need to offer incentives and specials and listen to their audience to offer them what they want. There are a lot of options, and John Moore, Of the Denver Post has written a phenomenal article with some great ideas. I definitely recommend that you read this article, forward the link to a few friends, and then go see a show this weekend.
