
A College Fair is being held in Second Life this weekend, October 24-25 2009, at International Schools Island, allowing students and college representatives from around the world to meet avatar face-to-face without leaving their homes. College representatives will be at the fair only during this weekend, but exhibits will remain in place for two weeks afterward. This picture shows the main landing area at International Schools Island.
As of this writing the fair will feature representatives from 36 colleges and universities from around the world, including North America, Asia, and Europe, including:
Apart from the College Fair itself, International Schools Island offers facilities for educators, students, and publishers, primarily oriented towards K-12 education.
Second Life members can teleport to International Schools Island by clicking slurl.com/secondlife/International%20Schools%202/101/156/55. It will probably be open through mid November.
