Finding romance in San Francisco this weekend

It’s all about attitude! Look your best, slow down, smile, and make eye contact with new people when you’re out and about this weekend. Say hello to as many people as possible, and you could make a great connection. You can’t tell if they’re The One simply by looking!

Tonight, meet new people while you’re brushing up on your dancing skills. Bay West Ballroom in San Rafael is holding a “mostly swing” dance from 9pm – 11pm. Get there early to take the lesson from 8:00 to 9:00 PM. US Swing Champion Kelly Casanova will teach an intermediate level class, while a beginning class is being taught in another studio. Location: 1133 E. Francisco Blvd. #D (second floor) in San Rafael. For more info call 415-457-4619.

If you’re a single parent, a great way to meet a kindred spirit is to attend Grand Opening Weekend at the Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Flirt with other friendly available looking adults while you and your offspring enjoy the fabulous exhibits. Enjoy live music and dance performances, sample sustainably sourced food, and marvel at Chinese acrobats. Check out the latest in green technologies. Smile at others as you scale the rock-climbing wall, and you just might meet that special someone. Admission inside the Academy is free on Saturday, September 27th. Plus, hours are extended all weekend.

Enjoy the sunny fall weather, while listening to music at the San Francisco Blues Festival, located at Fort Mason’s Great Meadow. Go early Saturday or Sunday, and set up a spot for yourself and your friends. Don’t just stay there! Move around, checking out the food, drink and the other people who have the great taste to attend the world’s oldest blues festival.

If these activities seem too intense, and you simply want to relax and have a drink, my spies tell me that The Matrix, 3138 Filmore Street, in San Francisco has a bustling singles scene.

Do you want to know the best places to meet singles in San Francisco? Next Wednesday, I’ll post my “Best place to meet singles in San Francisco” tips.

I'd love to respond to your dating questions or comments. What activities do you enjoy where you get a chance to meet people? Email me annie@getalovelife.net
