Not only do this weekend’s art fairs offer ample opportunity to meet other participants in an enjoyable setting, they are great dating venues. You’ll learn a lot about each other as you linger over intriguing works of art, listen to music, or sample tasty treats. The friendly ambiance makes it easy to banter with fellow attendees.
Successful flirting tips:
1) Make eye contact and smile, using open body language. Don’t be discouraged if he or she looks away—that’s normal. If there’s interest, you’ll get a response in a minute.
2) Strike up a conversation about whatever is happening near you. Ask for thoughts and opinions about what you’re seeing or doing.
3) Keep your tone of voice light and friendly. Be aware of the response you’re getting, and quickly excuse yourself when the other person seems disinterested.
4) Repeat and enjoy meeting a variety of people!
The 57 year old 2009 Sausalito Art Festival showcases the best local, American, and International Artists, who bring their combined perspectives, virtuoso skills, and more than 20,000 original works of art — including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber art, fine glass, woodwork, mixed media, and photography. If you are coming from San Francisco, commute via the scenic Golden Gate Ferry trip, and avoid hassles caused by the Bay Bridge closure. This busy, friendly show also features nonstop entertainment on three stages or gourmet delights with champagne and fine wines.

Spending the day in the Redwoods at the Kings Mountain Art Fair is always a delightful experience. The show features juried fine arts and fine crafts from over 135 artists presenting oil paintings, sculpture, photography, unique jewelry, mixed media and more on display among the trees. The juried artists are joined by 25 local “Mountain Folk” artists, who help maintain the local flavor of the fair. Supervised children’s activities and games take place all day in “Kiddie Hollow.” Park along Skyline Boulevard. Ride the free shuttle to the fair. Out of courtesy to the artists, please no pets on the fair grounds. Proceeds benefit the Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Brigade and other community charities.
