Friday: Professionals Guild, which is a social organization devoted to single professionals in the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Area, is holding the Bay Area Singles Expo/Trade Show & Dance Party in Concord. This event usually attracts around 500 singles. This elegant party will attract a diverse range of upscale singles from a variety of career backgrounds. The trade show will feature services that are of interest to singles, such as Soul Mate Quest Seminars and Passion Parties. I’ll be giving brief dating consultations, so bring me your questions. Saturday: The Kanbar Center for the Performing Arts in San Rafael presents a swing dance featuring Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers at 8PM. The best way to meet other singles is to come early for no-host cocktails, and take Jim Brosnahan’s swing dance class at 7:30. The Kanbar Center for the Performing Arts, Osher Marin Jewish Community Center, 200 N. San Pedro Rd., San Rafael. Dance instructor and choreographer, Cynthia Glinka has offered to share her discount with my readers. Saturday: If you are a woman who loves to dance, but you’re reluctant to ask a guy to dance, check out the Sadie Hawkins Day Dance at Sinbad's Restaurant in San Francisco. The rule is that men are not allowed to say no to a woman's request to dance at this annual party. Dance to your favorite hits while you are enjoying a fabulous view of the Bay. Sinbad’s is next to the Ferry Building on Pier 2 along the Embarcadero, in San Francisco. 8pm-Midnight Accessible by BART and MUNI (Embarcadero Station). Limited $4 valet parking available. Cost: $15/advance (by Nov 14) or $20/door.

Saturday: If you’d love to go to a formal waltz, the San Francisco Waltzing Society is having their annual dance at the Regency Center Ballroom at the corner of Van Ness Ave & Sutter in San Francisco. Waltz to the tunes of the Saratoga Symphony. Attire is formal, Victorian, Vintage or modern. Singles are seated together, so you’ll get a chance to meet new people.
