I noticed Tony Rom was playing another amateur golf event, and so I kept tabs on him. As long as he was doing well, that was easy. After he finished in fourth place though, his name slipped from the headline to the third graf.
To recap, he opened with a 5-under 65 to take an early lead. Subsequent rounds of 75 and 79 left him with a 219. The winner, a relative Giant around those parts, Ben Bendtsen beat him by 15 strokes for his third straight title at the Racine Tri-Course Amateur Championship.
