It seems like an odd name for a skin care and beauty line, but Yes To Carrots is quietly taking that name and building up a loyal following. Intrigued by the name, but also by the wonderful range of colors, I recently picked up a tube of Carrot Kiss C Me Shine Lipgloss at my local Walgreen's store, where the products just happened to be buy one, get one free.

While most cosmetics available in drugstores leave me less than satisfied, I am happy to report that Yes To Carrots was beyond satisfactory.  Not only are their ingredients sourced naturally and easily pronounced, but they are free of parabens, phthalates, petroleum and they aren't tested on animals.  Additionally, Yes To Carrots C Me Shine Lip Gloss utilizes a highly moisturizing castor seed oil base with the addition of tocopherol (Vitamin E) to keep lips soft, smooth, and hydrated.

What is most noticeable about the Yes To Carrots lipgloss is the distinct lack of stick.  Unlike many brands, even the expensive ones, this lip product isn't a sticky goop that has you pulling hair off your lips all day.  It stays smooth and emollient throughout the entire application.  It wears well, as I found that I only had to reapply every ninety minutes. Another noticeable "pro" to the product is that as the lipgloss wears off through eating or general wear, it doesn't leave a ring of pigment or an uneven stain on the lips.

With a mild peppermint flavor, Yes To Carrots C Me Shine Lipgloss is a delight for any lipgloss lover.  The flavor isn't overpowering and the texture is a creamy softness not found in many other lip care brands.  The price point - under $7 at most locations - is ideal for any budget-minded consumer who wants the perfectly polished pout.

There are only two downsides to the line.  First, Yes To Carrots currently offers only six lipgloss shades.  While they are all wearable or many skin tones, this lipgloss could easily become an addiction, and six colors just won't cut it for the makeup minded. Secondly, while they are widely available at drug stores and department stores nationwide, the selection available at each varies greatly, making it impossible to tell what will be available when you get there.  I bought the last Carrot Kiss at my store, and two weeks later, it has not yet been replenished.
