When do you lull? Right after lunch? Later in the evening when you still have things to do? It's natural to tucker out from time to time, but experiencing consistent, but minor, lethargy is a sign your body needs attention.

Consulting a doctor is the recommended suggestion, but if the doc gives you a clear bill of health, you may want to give the following options a go to give your body a boost.

Break down your breakfast. The word, in itself, means to break your fast. If you've been snoozing, your body has been in hibernation mode. Neglecting to eat breakfast is the equivalent of driving your car on empty. It won't be long before you hit the brakes. For healthy breakfast tips to keep you fueled all day, click here.

Shake your tailfeathers. One of the top excuses for not getting exercise is "being tired", but using your muscles stimulates the metabolism and keeps your body (and mind) alert. Burn fat and stay supercharged. Talk yourself out of an excuse by using positive affirmations such as, "I know working out will leave me energized."

Double check these "Doh!" items. Homer Simpson coined it. He also mastered these big three - Oxygen, water and food. While it's recommended you pass on the doughnuts and beer, double checking these vitals are critical to staying on top. If you find yourself yawning mid-day, this isn't necessarily a sign that you're tired. Yawning is also the body's way of letting you know it's not getting enough oxygen. Take four deep Ujjayi breaths (click here for how) to revitalize the body. Staying hydrated and choosing healthy snacks will also rev your engine. For more info on power snacks, click here.

Z-Check. Not getting enough sleep or, even worse, getting inconsistent sleep can put your body in a mid-day freeze frame. Fitness Magainzine's Saralyn Mark, MD, senior medical advisor in the Office on Women's Health of the Department of Health and Human Services recommends getting at least 8 hours. It's also recommended that you keep your dog off the bed and your partner on the other side. Keep cell phones and alarm lights hidden and focus on getting restful sleep with these helpful hints.
