It's summer vacation time and for travelers with animal companions, it's also time to answer that most important question. Does Little Bit the ferocious gray Chihuahua or Cleopatra the fabulous feline get to go along for the ride?
What to do with pets while on the road, is a dilemma for millions of vacationers each year. For those headed to Grand Canyon National Park, this serious decision may just be a little easier to make. Especially in the summer, as with many destinations, a Grand Canyon visit can be very restricted by having a pet on the trip. Vehicle confinement is not an option and even dogs on leash are only allowed in certain areas of the park. And, what cat wants to hike the South Rim?
The Grand Canyon Railway (GCR) in Williams, Arizona, welcomes pets for a resort stay, whether or not their "parents" are guests at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel or riding the GCR Train to the Grand Canyon.

Here's what the Pet Resort, with its 28 rooms for dogs and 16 kitty condos, offers those furry friends:
Canine and feline guests can bring along their own bag of goodies—favorite food and bowls to eat from, snacks, toys or even a snuggly security blanket or bed.
Please note this requirement from the Pet Resort:
"All animals need t have their shots current (distemper, parvo, bordetella, rabies) and paperwork needs to be provided in order to stay at the GCR Pet Resort."
