According to Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO), at 10:09 PM AKDT, March 21, 2009, "AVO is raising the aviation color code to Orange and the alert level to Watch. Seismic activity has continued to increase and conditions may evolve rapidly culminating in an eruption within days to weeks."

Back on January 29, 2009 the United States Geologic Survey reported that Mount Redoubt Volcano, within Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, continues to show an increase in seismic activity that leads scientists to believe that an eruption is possible within days to weeks.

Since that time the amount of unrest in the volcano has fluctuated, but over the last few days shallow earthquake activity has increased again.

The AVO website has the latest information on the current status of Mount Redoubt.
