Something for anyone who loves to plant!

The Emerald Coast Flower and Garden Show is this weekend – April 3-5, 2009.  It’s out in Milton on the PJC Campus.   It is unique among the Pensacola Area’s festivals in that it is small and focused – every vendor is absolutely relevant to Flowers or Gardening.  All of the vendors are VERY knowledgeable.  Great finds range from bonsai to orchids to grapefruit trees.

Dawn and I will be there with our Garden Oddities.  No, not the children:)  We make wind chimes and sun catchers from recycled and salvaged materials.  Look for the beige tent with a Chiming Lively sign.  Please come by and say, “Hello!”

There are no events planned specifically for kids, but our kids had a blast last year playing hide and seek in the azaleas while we shopped.  And they, of course, loved getting muddy while planting once we got home.

The proceeds from the event go to provide scholarships to students in the Horticulture programs at PJC.   Admission is free.

Once you get to Milton, just follow the signs to PJC.  You can’t miss it once you get on the campus.  The hours are Noon to 5 on Friday, 10 to 5 on Saturday, and 10 to 4 on Sunday.
