Do your kids like music?

Whether you want to introduce your kids to live music performances, or you just want to spend some quality time downtown along the scenic Hillsborough River, the Patel Conservatory has some great family entertainment on the horizon.

FREE ROCK SCHOOL BLOWOUT CONCERT
The Patel Conservatory's Rock School students will perform in a free Rock School Blowout concert.

The concert will be Sat., Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. on the Riverwalk at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

Led by instructors Lee Ahlin and Paul Stoddart, Rock School students ages 10 through adult who have formed nine bands, will show off what they've learned as they play modern and classic rock and roll tunes by artists such as Linkin Park, Journey, Green Day and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

With cooler weather finally upon us in Tampa, a free concert is a great way to spend an afternoon outdoors with the kids. So grab a blanket to spread on the grass, and spend a relaxing afternoon with the family. (Chairs with legs are not permitted). Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Budding musicians interested in Rock School can attend the free Rock Encounter on Sat., Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. Musicians of all skill levels and ages can jam and get tips from Ahlin. Pre-register for this free class by calling 222-6453.

PATEL CONSERVATORY YOUTH ORCHESTRA CONCERT
The Patel Conservatory Youth Orchestra will perform their fall concert on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2:30 p.m. in Carol Morsani Hall at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

The PCYO, with more than 250 young performers from 75 high schools in seven counties, has performed twice at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Its 75-member symphony will perform three works by iconic American composers in the upcoming concert, led by Dr. William Wiedrich. Weidrich is also the director of orchestral activities at the University of South Florida.

Tickets for the fall concert are $10 to $20 in advance and $12 to $22 day of the performance. Tickets may be purchased by calling 813.229.STAR (7827) or 800.955.1045 outside Tampa Bay, in person at TBPAC Ticket Office or online at www.tbpac.org.

As part of the non-profit Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, the Patel Conservatory offers classes for children and adults of all experience levels in dance, music and theater. More information is available by calling 813.222.1002, and by visiting www.patelconservatory.org.
