What a cutie!

The green broadbill (Calyptomena viridis) occurs in Malaysia and Sumatra (including offshore islands), Indonesia and Brunei, in lowland and hill forests, principally below 800 m, but occasionally to 1,700 m. Because of extensive forest destruction in Indonesia and Malaysia, the species is near threatened but its use of secondary forest and submontane slopes implies that they are not immediately threatened.

Taken at the birdhouse of the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago.

Nikon D70, Nikkor 80-400mm VR, f/5/3. 1/25 sec
