Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach

Although it is technically across Kalakaua Avenue from Waikiki Beach, the main drag in Waikiki, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa sports an unobstructed view of Waikiki Beach. No hotels, no high-rises between you and the famous blue waters of Waikiki. For those unfamiliar with the island of Oahu, the stretch known as Waikiki is really only about 10 blocks long, with the Hyatt on the one end closest to Kapiolani Park, the Aquarium, and the Zoo. Iconic Diamond Head is postcard-perfect from Hyatt’s location.

Directly across from the Hyatt is a perfect slice of Waikiki Beach, so you get the unobstructed views and easy access to the beach and ocean without paying the hefty price of the resorts on the ‘makai’ side of Kalakaua Avenue. Sunning, swimming, surfing, people-watching are all about 10 yards away from Hyatt’s front door.

And like Hyatt Regency Maui and Grand Hyatt Kauai, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki is a winner. Gracious hospitality, elegant décor in spacious accommodations, a full-service spa, and those nifty amenities that are Hyatt’s trademark are all in abundance here. There’s even a multi-level shopping arcade within the hotel itself, but all of Waikiki’s shops and restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. On-site restaurants and full room-service mean that no guest can go hungry here.

Its 54 million dollar recent renovation has only refined what has always been a great resort. They’ve added a high-tech Fitness Center and a lovely swimming pool overlooking Waikiki Beach. An authentic Polynesian show—replete with fire knife dancing--and a full slate of Hawaiian activities—from hula classes, lei-making, entertainment—enhance the fun of your Waikiki experience.

Yes, there’s an entertaining Camp Hyatt for the little ones, but honestly, this is a great resort for just about anyone: families who have to satisfy divergent personalities or multi-generational families, romantics and honeymooners, fun-seekers, seniors who want to be in the midst of all the activity yet enjoy a respite from Waikiki’s nonstop ambience. And on top of all that, Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa is usually offering fairly aggressive promotions, making this an excellent choice for a luxury Waikiki resort at a competitive price. Hyatt delivers the goods.
