If you're taking a road trip and you're going some where new, you wouldn't think of leaving without an atlas, maps, or GPS. A business plan, which includes a marketing plan, is essential to the success of any business. Without a plan to guide your decisions and keep everything in alignment, your business could easily run off course.
At first, you might hit some potholes but then when you encounter road blocks, you really should pay attention before the road closes and you're stuck in the middle of nowhere.
If you haven't already begun planning for 2009, make it a priority. As I stated in yesterday's post, "The mosts in marketing", your business will suffocate slowly without marketing, so be sure to review your overall goals for 2009, review why customers really do business with you, what problem/s you solve for them, and then make a marketing plan that is in alignment with your target audience, their needs, and you will protect yourself against the potholes, road blocks, and closures that otherwise may interrupt your company's journey to success.
