Today we take a look at a cross-section of meetups going on in the San Gabriel Valley.

  • The Wine Making Experience! (Pasadena)
Members of the Wine Making Experience! meet at the Pasadena Winery near the PF Chang's in Paseo Colorado. The class costs $75, which covers the costs of two meetings, hourderves, and instructions from a professional vintner on how to make wine. At the end of the Experience!, participants take home five bottles of wine that they've made. There are no future meetings currently set up, but I would assume that Pasadena Winery will offer these classes again.
  • Pasadena Runners
Although there are 39 members of this group, there's been an average of only three attendees at the group runs. However, it only takes a few other people to provide the extra motivation needed to get yourself jump-started on a running regimen. Group runs are scheduled frequently, and there's no better way to stay motivated than to join a group of people already in the habit of running.
  • The Pasadena Crochet Meetup
This meetup meets on the first Saturday of the month, and the next meeting is on April 4. Make sure you have a crochet hook and yarn if you want to attend.
  • Pasadena Wine Enthusiasts
Another wine-related meetup, this group boasts 619 members. The next meeting (March 22) will focus on wines that go well with seafood.
  • South Pasadena Swing Dancers
The official meetup page says that this group exists to "discuss, promote, and practice Swing Dancing" including the "6 Count Swing, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Shag, Charlseton, etc."
  • Pasadena Italian Speakers
Ciao, bella! This meetup invites Italian speakers of all proficiencies to come practice their Italian. The next meeting is Sunday March 29 at 11 a.m.
  • Duarte Movies, Music, and Dining Lovers
Do you live in or near Duarte? Are you looking for other people to take in a movie or play with? Duarte Movies, Music, and Dining Lovers meet up for entertainment and then go out afterward for a discussion over dinner. The group is meeting up on Saturday March 21 to see the 6:00 p.m showing of Duplicity at the AMC Covina 30.
  • Pasadena Area Guerrilla Gardeners
This group is for those adventurous souls who are going to garden "with or without permission." It is a private group focusing on guerrilla gardening in the Pasadena, Arcadia, and Monrovia areas. You must contact the organizer directly if you wish to participate.
  • Los Angeles Badminton Players
The LA Badminton Players put the bad in badminton. The group, which is headquartered in Arcadia, is more about having fun than total badminton domination. Just make sure to bring your shuttlecock.
  • P-Town Boston Terrier Sunday Morning Meetup and Pasadena West Highland White Terrier Meetup Group
There are not one, but two, meetup groups devoted to Terriers and their owners in the SGV area. Seems like a random thing to bond over, but to each his own. Right now, I'm imagining a showdown between the two groups which culminates in a Warriors-esque fight scene.

If you know of another interesting meetup in the SGV, please share it with all of us in a comment.
