Although not the holiday season that November and December constitute, April (a.k.a. Stress Awareness Month) may have as much call for holiday activity!
Most of us have found that, rather than make life easier, our over-caffeinated, internet-based, fast-food, cellphone-and-text-messaging life has just meant that we're expected to get more done in the same 24-hour day.
What better way to stop the madness for an hour or two than to invest the time in something to help you live longer, more happily, and more productively?
Find a physical activity you enjoy. Yes, sometimes we do workouts just because it's the best way to reach a goal, but you should have something you can do just for the enjoyment and stress relief. It may be skiing, yoga, or Ultimate. You may like ballroom dancing or hiking. Many of us have found nirvana in the simple act of picking up something really, really heavy (deadlift therapy anyone?)...just find something!
During the month of April, I'll be bringing up some of my tips for relieving stress in a healthy and productive way, and I'd love to get your comments as well. Let's hear them!
