According to CollegeGrad.com, the most commonly-listed entry-level job positions on their site are posted by employers from New York City (followed by Houston, TX). The site is a job search engine dedicated to job listings for entry-level positions likely targeted by recent graduates. Of course, this isn’t a professional study and no scientific conclusions have been made from what I understand! But the tidbit of info is certainly a good indication of popular trends and patterns.
It goes without saying (though I’ll say it now anyway) that there are far more applicants looking for entry-level jobs than positions available; however, at least this can give you some hope, knowing that while it seems as though the city has run dry, there ARE opportunities available. Sometimes you just have to dig for the one that works best for you. If you’re a recent grad, try CollegeGrad.com and read some of the search engine reviews I’ve done in the past!
Albany came into the top 25 at #21, and for those who would consider a move to a nearby city, Philadelphia rang in at #5.
