Jon Lajoie...  want some of this?

Jon Lajoie from  Funny or Die is funny.  I talked with him today to hear a bit more about his show.  If you know and like him from the inter-web, you will love this show at Cobb's Comedy Club this weekend.  He does standup, he plays music, he has videos recorded specifically for the show, and I think it will be lots of rowdy, hip fun.  If you don't know him from the inter-web, check out a clip at his site...  Check out my earlier interview with him about his standup career.

Alicia Dattner:  Because I'm not really familiar with your comedy, do you think I would like it?

Jon Lajoie:  Come "prepared with an eject button."

AD: What's mean?

JL:  I use bad language to say good things.

AD: Like what good things?  What do you mean by good?

JL:  Like we are all one, and all beings should hug trees and flowers and love one another. [I'm paraphrasing]

AD:  That's my jam!

JL:  Like I might do a rap song [again I'm paraphrasing--sorry Jon] that's all nasty in order to say that people think they have permission to be sexist because it's in a song.

AD:  It's kind of the opposite of what Sarah Silverman does...

JL:  I think she's funny.

AD:  I think she's funny, too, I just think she uses good language to say bad things.  She uses her funny for e-vil.

JL:  Her cute voice.

AD:  Yep.

See Jon Lajoie:  Friday and Saturday at 8 and 10:15 pm, this weekend at Cobb's at Columbus and Lombard, $20.50.
