Jon Lajoie looking like Liz Phair's Flower.

So this comedian Jon Lajoie is coming to Cobb's Comedy Club to perform this weekend.  He's on Funny or Die, which is often very funny and not so much dead, so I decided to have a virtual cup of coffee with him and ask some up-close-and-personal questions...   I ordered a half-caf doubble white mocha latte, put extra half and half in it, and sweetened it with stevia.  He ordered an imaginary double shot Americano.  He is very funny and flips his virtual hair a lot.

AD:  So, Jon, how long have you been doing standup?
JL: I've been doing live comedy for a little over a year.  I've been around for several years creating comedy for the web, but only recently decided to create a live show.  I'm a lot like Jesus in that sense.

AD:  He was sort of a magical dude, huh?  What's your favorite part of being a comedian?

JL:  My favorite part of being a comedian has to be...  being worshiped.  Ever since I was a young boy I always was like: "Yo,when I grow up, I want people to worship me."  Now they do, and it's awesome.  10% off at The Olive Garden is also a nice little perk.

AD:  Sometimes I get 10% off at the hardware store.  Being a non-national semi-famous female comedian has its perks, too.   I can't always tell if they're recognizing me as a comedian or my tank top, though.

JL:  It's easier to tell with the Olive Garden.

AD:  So who are two comic influences?

JL:  Mitch Hedberg is a huge influence.  His childlike observations were so simple yet incredibly witty and intelligent.  Another comedian that I like is CNN.  It's technically not a comedian, but man is it funny.

AD:  Tell me something you'd rather not reveal to me, but are going to anyway.

JL:  I sold my soul to the devil for a VHS copy of "Homeward Bound" and I don't regret it one bit.  Man, those dogs are funny.

AD:  Thanks, Jon.

Want more Jolie?  He will bring his Live as F**k” show to Cobbs in San Francisco July 31 and August 1.  Tickets are currently on sale.  In his live show, Jon does a mix of comedic songs, stand-up, videos and characters.   Call it comedic multitasking for the Y2K generation.

Jon’s most popular YouTube Videos have totaled more than 100 million aggregate views. His most recent “Michael Jackson is Dead”, which was created in one day and has already received over 2 million hits.
