Los Angeles, CA based Sportnet and GrindTV have announced that they will be joining forces and merging into one company, holding onto the name Sportnet. Together, Sportnet and GrindTV are a leading force for high action sport videos and will reach over ten million monthly visitors ranging over many websites such as Motocross.com, Racerxonline.com, Racerxill.com, MXSports.com, GNCCracing.com, RoadRacerX.com and many others.

GrintTV CEO and co-founder Erik Hawkins expressed that, "By joining forces with Sportnet, we now have access to deep sport-specific communities on sites such as Wetsand.com, Motocross.com and Skateboard.com. We are committed to leveraging these complementary online properties to create the leading action sports media company for fans, marketers, and the industry."

GrintTV was launched in 2005 was recently became the exclusive action spots channel on Yahoo! Sports and is financially backed by leading venture capital firm SoftBank Capital. Sportnet was launched in 2007 by Wasserman Media Group and has hosted and webcasted live events such as the Maloof Money Cup for Skateboard.com, the AMA motocross series for Motocross.com, as well as the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing and Globe Pro Fiji for Wetsand.com.

This merging makes a lot of sense and seems like a very smart move for all parties involved, especially all of the viewers and fans of their top action sports content.
