There's nothing like a small-town festival to make you feel like you're part of a community - even if you don't live there. After the crush of the DNC, you're probably ready for some entertainment on a smaller scale. The Arvada Harvest Festival should fit the bill nicely!
Celebrating its 83rd year, the Arvada Harvest Festival is Colorado's longest-running continuous event, second only to the Greeley Stampede. Festival highlights include a kid's parade, over 100 booths with local restaurants and other businesses, marching bands and a Teddy Bear Picnic. It doesn't get any more old-time fun than that!
In addition to the main event, held in Olde Town Arvada near Olde Wadsworth Blvd and Grandview Avenue, the festival also includes off-site activities such as a golf tournament and spelling bee.
The festival starts today, so start packing the little ones in the car and come on down!
