Late summer is the unofficial festival season in Denver, and this coming weekend is no exception. Celebrating its fifth year is Festival Italiano, held in the Belmar shopping area in Lakewood near Alameda and Wadsworth.
Last year it was obvious that this festival is getting incredibly popular: despite the heat wave at the time, the streets were packed with people enjoying everything Italian from sausage & peppers to Italian wine seminars. There are plenty of other fun things to enjoy including bocce tournaments, chef demonstrations and the Italian flag throwers from Florence.
It's a free event, of course, and you can buy all the food, wine and gelato you can handle. Park in the garage next to Dick's Sporting Goods for easy access.
