Great food and good deals await
Buy local - buy delicious - buy at your local farmers market!

As a resident of the Wheat Ridge area, I'm thrilled to tell you that the Denver Farmers Market is now operating in Wheat Ridge every Thursday 11 a.m - 3 p.m. Near the southwest corner of 44th and Wadsworth (in front of Ross) you'll find a bunch of white tents where people are purveying a variety of local produce along with a healthy dose of whatever else sells at the farmers market.

I snagged a couple of gorgeous zucchini for $1.50 a pound and a bunch of grilling onions for only $1.50. Last week, I was excited to find a two-pound bag of Forbidden Rice (black rice - you gotta try some!) for only $4. Now granted, I don't really hit the farmers markets looking for "bargains", but hey - a delicious tomato that didn't cross two continents to get here and doesn't chew like wet cardboard is a bargain at any price!

In case you haven't visited any of them, Denver Farmers Market has six locations including Southwest Plaza, Tamarac Square, Highlands Ranch, Aurora and Littleton. Grab a stash of cash and c'mon down. Or up.
