Now in its ninth season, the German American Chamber of Commerce–Colorado Chapter (GACC) brings its Denver Christkindl Market to downtown Denver.

On the corner of 16th and Arapahoe along the 16th Street Mall, you'll find an assortment of booths where purveyors are purveying a fascinating array of handmade gifts. From German Christmas ornaments to Ukrainian hand-painted trinket boxes, this unique little festival is the perfect place to get yourself in a shopping kind of mood – old world style.

What's more (and is at least half the reason I like to go), the market offers plenty of European food and a beer garden where you can warm up to a cup of Gluhwein (a type of German spiced wine) or beer. The Market rounds out the annual event with local choruses and other musicians, including a performance with 400 tubas on December 14th.
