
David Maroul and Thomas Neal each drove in three runs as the San Jose Giants won their seventh straight game, 11-2 over the Visalia Rawhide Thursday night at Recreation Park.
Maroul hit a three-run homer and Neal went four-for-five as the Giants won for the 16th time in 18 games. Darren Ford, Brian Bocock, Conor Gillaspie and Tyler Graham also had multi-hit games as San Jose outhit Visalia 16-7.
Scott Barnes (12-3) took over the league lead in wins with a five-inning performance during which he gave up two earned runs on just three hits while walking two and striking out four. T.J. Brewer, Craig Whitaker and Daniel Turpen each pitched two shutout innings as the Giants’ relief corps continues to sparkle. The bullpen entered the game with a 0.87 during July.
Visalia starter Patrick McAnaney gave up four earned runs in five innings and his record fell to 7-6.
The series concludes Friday night in Visalia as Oliver Odle (6-7 ) tries to even his record as he opposes Visalia’s scheduled starter, Trevor Harden (1-7).
