
First baseman Ryne White hit two home runs and drove in five as the Visalia Rawhide came from behind to beat the San Jose Giants, 7-4 Saturday night at Municipal Stadium. The loss ends San Jose’s five-game winning streak and drops them two games behind the Rawhide in the California League North race with six games to go in the first half.
San Jose held a 4-2 lead going into the 7th inning behind starter Paul Oseguera until White hit his second homer, a three-run shot that gave the Rawhide a 5-4 lead. Two hitters later, third baseman Kyle Greene hit a solo blast off reliever Daniel Turpen. Visalia scored once more in the eighth inning off Turpen to make it 7-4.
Oseguera gave up nine hits and 6 1/3 innings as his record falls to 0-2. He struck out seven, walked one and gave up two homers. For Visalia, Jeff Dietz pitched 2 2/3 innings in shutout relief of starter Christian Beltre. Jordan Noberto pitched two scoreless innings in earning his first save.
San Jose’s offense was led by rightfielder Roger Kieschnick, who homered and drove in three runs. Thomas Neal hit his team-leading 12th homer.
Tuesday evening at Municipal Stadium, Garrett Broshuis (4-0) is scheduled to take the mound for San Jose. He’ll be opposed by Visalia’s Pat McAnaney (7-1). Game time is 6 p.m.
