
Buster Posey homered and drove in three runs and Tyler Graham and Roger Kieschnick had three hits apiece in San Jose’s 10-5 win over Bakersfield.
Posey (10) and Kieschnick (8) hit back-to-back homers in the first inning to start San Jose’s 13-hit attack. Graham stole three bases and scored three times. San Jose was aided by six Bakersfield errors. Posey extended his hitting streak to ten games.
Garrett Broshuis (4-1) had a rocky start, giving up four runs in the first two innings. But he settled down, pitching 6 1/3 innings, giving up eight hits and five earned runs while striking out three. Blaze starter Tim Murphy (3-6) gave up ten hits and nine runs (five earned) in 5 2/3 innings.
The two teams wrap-up the three-game series Thursday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Scheduled pitchers are Scott Barnes (5-3) for San Jose and Kennil Gomez (2-4) for Bakersfield.
