
With the change to winter hours, program times at the Petrified Forest National Park have also changed. The programs offered this winter include:
The Painted Desert Inn Tour: Visit the park's national historic landmark building and learn about the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Harvey Girls, and see for yourself one of the best preserved buildings from the 1930s. Tour is offered daily at 10:00 am MST. Meet the ranger inside the historic building, located at Mile Marker 2 on the park road.
The Triassic Park Program: Learn about what the earth may have looked like during this program, which is offered daily at 1:00 pm at the Rainbow Forest Museum. In addition to information on Triassic creatures, you'll have a chance to see first hand what the skeletons of ancient animals look like. Program begins in the sun room of the Museum, which is at Mile Marker 26 on the park road.
The Puerco Pueblo Tour: Take a guided tour around the stabilized ruins of an Ancestral Puebloan village that is between 700 to 900 years old. Offered daily at 3:00 pm, the tour meets at the trailhead at the Puerco Pueblo parking lot. Puerco Pueblo is located at Mile Marker 11 on the park road.
