The Petrified Forest National Park, along with all national park sites, welcomes for free all veterans, active duty military and their families on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. In honor of Veteran's Day, all sites managed by the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture will give free admission to the folks who have served, or are serving, the country. The fee is waived only on entrance fees; some parks have use fees that are not covered by the special day.

The Petrified Forest National Park is open daily, except for December 25th, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm MST.
