Season predictions, Examiner fantasy league
Busy day today with the day job so I apologize for the mostly odds n ends nature of the post. However, tomorrow I will have my interview with
New York Giants Examiner Zac Wassink as we discuss the Redskins-Giants tilt and the outlook for his G-Men and the NFC East. Zac will have a similar post where I answer his questions about the Redskins.
Rich Tandler sees an
8-8 finish for the season. I say either 7-9 or 9-7. I’m not splitting the difference, I’m covering my flanks.
I’ve heard 10-6, but that would mean the offense, especially Jason Campbell jumps way ahead of their learning curve and the defense gets more fumbles to bounce their way.
At the Redskins Insider Jason LaCanfora speculates where the Giants may try to
attack the Redskins defense. In addition to the corners, Reed Doughty and Rocky McIntosh will be targets. As I’ve said
ad nauseum, the short passing game is this unit’s major vulnerability. In the game at Fed Ex last year, Eli Manning attacked the flats until Plaxico Burress made Fred Smoot miss, for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
JLC also has a good
explication of the dual system on the defensive line.
My sympathies go out to Chris Samuels for the
loss of his friend in the tragic accident at his house.
Matt Terl has a nice
Q&A with Redskins Director of Player Personnel, Scott Campbell about the roster cuts and the thinking behind them.
Former WTEM Redskins beat reporter Jerry Coleman is
heading up the BW Parkway to helm Baltimore’s new all sports talk station WVIE 1370. H/T to my Examiner colleague and WCBM News Director, Brenda Carl.
WCBM’s morning show host Sean Casey is a die-hard Skins fan and puts in a good word for the burgundy and gold now and then over Baltimore’s airwaves.
Finally, we sports gnomes in the Examiner empire put together a fantasy football league. Actually, I had the idea, but
Fantasy Football Examiner Brad Hostetter did all the grunt work putting the Yahoo league together. I’ve been out of the fantasy game for a couple of years, and I was never very good at it. Although, I do have that Gary Williams knack for beating the number one ranked team.
Anyway, here is my roster, feel free to pan or praise my picks. Yes, there are three homer picks, but I went with known quantities at points in the draft where no clear choice existed.

Mr. Fantasy Dave Del Grande is in our league as well. He and I, depending on the round picked ahead of, or behind each other. I didn’t get all the players I wanted. However, given that he selected players I had in my queue just in front of me, I feel pretty good about my draft.
