Cooley Says: Training Camp Begins July 20

July 3, 8:20 AM

As the dog days of summer set upon us, it is only natural to ponder cooler fall weather, and Sundays with the Burgundy and Gold. We love our football and with a shorter season than other professional sports the NFL leaves us with a constant craving for more. This hunger gets more acute in late June/early July because we know training camp is just around the corner to whet our appetites.

With that said, it is now time to set the table for the appetizer of training camp.

The June OTAs are over and the “sons of Washington” will reconvene at Redskins Park for training camp beginning on Sunday July 20. The first nine days of camp will be open to the public, see the info box below for the full schedule All morning practices are open and begin at 8:30 am. Saturday July 26 is FAN APPRECIATION DAY.

Admission and parking are free. Download your admission ticket here.
For directions and other questions see the training camp FAQ.

Since I have a day job I will probably only make it to one day of training camp. For those of you, who can make it to Ashburn feel free to email me (marknewgent@comcast.net) with your observations and/or thoughts, and I will post them.

Chief Zee update:
As of this morning, we have closed the gap and Chief Zee is tied with Poe. Voting closed July 8, so vote early, vote often.

It also appears I have my first troll/Cowboys fan. See the comments section of my inaugural post.
