So Jason Taylor has foot issues. Looks like the equipment staff got him some comfy brogans. Today at practice he tossed Jon Jansen to the ground like a “wet rag.”

We could see Carlos Rogers against the Jets, but he will be a game-time decision. Rogers’ progression is indeed a good sign. However, Jason LaCanfora made this key observation “he has continued to drop balls at times in camp.” Carlos does have a case of the stone hands. I submit that had he held onto that ball in the 2005 game against Seattle, things would have turned out differently.

Tomorrow is the last day of training camp, and just in time, as the players can rest, relax and recover from injuries. Hopefully, Zorn will hold Antwan Randle-El out of the Jets game. Antwan looks to be the receiver who has gelled best with Jason Campbell and I tend to agree with the talk about him catching 100 balls this year.

Who could be the guy who loses a spot if Jim Zorn decides to make Marcus Mason the fourth running back? Chris Wilson, Rob Jackson, Todd Wade…? Jason LaCanfora speculates. Reading that I realized: Wow, who would have thought that the Redskins would have depth on the defensive line? Rich Tandler has more on Todd Wade’s bubble status.

Some Cowboys fans are amused by their infantile petulance (registration required). Apparently, someone posted my piece on Hard Knocks to the Cowboys Zone message board, which brought out the knuckle-dragging troglodytes.

Via Matt Terl at The ORB, Larry Michael tore his MCL gardening. Gardening? Maybe Red Zebra could put Larry on the DL and bring back Frank Herzog.

Just kidding. Larry Michael is a good broadcaster, and frontman for the team, although the whole Source Meter/Sourcerer schtick is pretty lame.

Again from Matt: A football coach over at ExtremeSkins presents the basics of the West coast Offense. This prompted me to do some more research. Wikipedia has a great explication of the system. Not that I could go out and be a coordinator, but I definitely have

Apparently, the term “West Coast Offense” originally meant the “Air Coryell” system. Imagine that, Joe Gibbs ran the WCO. However, the nomenclature got screwed up and reporters applied the moniker to Bill Walsh’s offense. Case in point, Bill Parcells’ quip after the Giants beat the 49ers in a playoff game, “What do you think of that West Coast Offense now?”

Furthermore, Walsh’s system has been so bastardized over the years that any system that emphasizes the pass more than the run is slapped with the “West Coast” label, even when it is not.
