Two more for the Turk

August 25, 10:51 PM

Will he be dancing on September 4?
The Redskins released reserve linebacker Matt Sinclair, who apparently has fractures in his lumbar vertebrae. I feel bad for Sinclair who played really well and was looking to make the roster.

Burl Toler was also cut this afternoon.

The roster is down to 75 and will be pared down to the final 53-man version by Saturday, August 30.

Ben at the Curly R bids a sincere fond farewell to Vernon Fox. Vern, we hardly knew ye!

Cindy Boren at the Redskins Insider posts that it is wait and see for Jason Taylor, “which would jeopardize his streak of starting in 130 straight regular-season games.”  You see Ms. Boren, I quoted you there. It is called attribution, which I’m still waiting for on your use of the phrase Cult of Colt ;)

Odds n Ends

DC Examiner sports columnist Rick Snider looks at the Carolina game and says be afraid, very afraid.

Despite Snider’s Cassandra-like warning, Will at Hogs Haven takes solace in Chris Cooley’s words, as do I:

Of course much concern will invade the Redskins after this week, but hopefully there is compensation in our trial. A confident 3-0 team has been humbled with more than enough time to inventory our problems. It seems unlikely, but everyone has something to learn from a loss like the one we just took. We will also have a new motivation to improve as a team.

Tomorrow's sunrise marks the 11th day left in preparation for the Super Bowl champs. There is no question in my mind whether or not this team will show up to Redskins Park ready to work. Keeping in mind that we still play Jacksonville, we will be ready for a Thursday night showdown in New York. This loss will do nothing inside the locker room besides renew vigor - and for the first time in the past couple weeks I can't wait to get back to practice.

The aftermath

August 25, 7:41 AM
Given that the Carolina game looked like the first half of Permian vs. Dallas Carter, I was curious as to how Jim Zorn would handle this type of loss.  I have to concur with Matt Terl on Zorn’s candidness.   Here are the take away... Read More

Jason Taylor's dogs and petulant Cowboy fans

August 14, 6:05 AM
So Jason Taylor has foot issues.  Looks like the equipment staff got him some comfy brogans.  Today at practice he tossed Jon Jansen to the ground like a “wet rag.” We could see Carlos Rogers against the Jets, but he... Read More

Dancing with the Skins

July 20, 8:23 PM
Wow! After losing Phillip Daniels and Alex Buzzbee for the season, Vinny Cerrato pulled the trigger on a deal to bring in Jason Taylor.  He dealt two draft picks (2009 second round pic and 2010 sixth round pick) to the Dolphins for... Read More
