As we begin the month of November, the pending Holiday rush is starring us down as it seems to do every year. Every year I say the same thing, “This is the year I’m going to send out the Holiday cards on time”. Every year, however, I find myself rushing to get the cards out even if a little late. This year I’m going to REALLY take care of it on time and here is how.
I created a Holiday folder. I used a ordinary 3 ring binder and decorated the cover to get me in the holiday spirit. I created tabs to help keep the Holidays under control.
The tabs are:
-
Calendar – This is a must to break down your to do list so the upcoming months are manageable.
-
Contact List – A current list of addresses of friends and family. I printed mine from Outlook. Around this time I email those I expect to keep in my Holiday mailing list an email requesting their current information.
-
Cards - Keep cards handy here for when you have allocated time to write, address, stamp and mail your Holiday cards.
-
Gifts List – Keep an ongoing list of people you want to include in your gift giving this season and leave space for writing what the gift is this year. (this keeps you from giving someone the same gift every year.
-
Receipts – As you shop, keep your receipts here for convenience if there is a need for a return or exchange.
-
Coupons – This is the time to gather all those coupons from your favorite stores to take advantage of the upcoming Holiday sales.
-
Returns – Once and item is identified as a return or exchange take the receipt from the receipt folder and store it here. This will make your trip to the store a breeze.
-
Family Crafts – Any ideas you would like to tackle this season can be stored here for easy access.
Keep this folder handy every year to keep you on track during the Holiday season.
