They haven’t been born yet, but Costa Cruises has names for its’ two newest babies.

The twin 114,500-ton ships – scheduled for debut in 2011 and 2012 – will be called Costa Favolosa and Costa Fascinosa.

The names were among 16,000 suggestions from 40,000 travel agents and cruise enthusiasts from around the world, as a result of Coast’s “Send Us a Sea of Names” contest.

The naming announcement comes as the laying of the first building block is set to take place at Fincantieri at the Marghera shipyard in Venice, Italy, on Thursday.

Costa Favolosa and Costa Fascinosa are the final ships in Costa’s three-year fleet expansion of five new ships. Costa Luminosa (May 2009), Costa Pacific (June 2009) and Costa Deliziosa (January 2010) are the other three ships.
